New grant to study the ecological and evolutionary effects of hurricanes using long-term data

We have been recommended to receive funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to assess how hurricanes drive ecological and evolutionary change in island communities in The Bahamas. This project will fund our (myself, Jason Kolbe, Jonah Piovia-Scott, Jonathan Losos, Thomas Schoener, & David Spiller) efforts to collate data from decades of research in The Bahamas in order to test new hypotheses about how ecological catastrophes drive ecological and evolutionary dynamics. This is an ambitious project that we have been working towards for many years. I’m super excited to get started!
